Eligibility
To receive an invitation to join our chapter, you must meet the following criteria:
- Completed at least 12 credit hours of associate degree coursework.
- Maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Important Deadlines
Formal invitations are emailed to eligible students shortly after the Add/Drop period ends in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
You have until the last day of classes of the current semester to accept your invitation and officially become a member.

Accept your invite when you receive it and pay a one-time $70 fee. Fee waiver information is shared at PTK Information sessions each semester.

How to Join (Becoming a Member)
Getting started takes less than 5 minutes. If you received a nomination code via email or mail:
- Go Online: Visit nsls.org and click "Enter Nomination Code."
- Submit Your Code: Enter the unique code provided in your invitation.
- Complete Enrollment: Pay the one-time registration fee to officially secure your status as a pre-inducted member.
How to Become an Inducted Member
Once enrolled, you will complete the Foundations of Leadership program (approximately 10 flexible hours total) to achieve full induction and unlock your graduation regalia:
- Attend Orientation: First Event.
Meet your local chapter leaders, discover your campus schedule, and get introduced to the roadmap for the semester.
- Leadership Training Day: Immersive Workshop.
Participate in an interactive video training seminar. You'll complete a free DiSC Personality Assessment to map out your communication style, uncover your natural strengths, and build a goal-achievement plan.
- Watch 3 Speaker Broadcasts: Learn From the Best.
Tune into live-streamed or archived keynotes featuring world-class celebrities, authors, and industry giants (past speakers include Mark Cuban, Sheryl Sandberg, and Kevin Hart) sharing career and life strategies.
- Join 3 Success Networking Teams (SNTs): Peer Accountability.
Meet bi-weekly in small, goal-oriented groups of your peers. SNTs act as your masterclass support network, helping you set timelines, track progress, and hold each other accountable.
- Official Induction Ceremony: The Celebration.
Celebrate your hard work! You are officially recognized as an inducted leader and will receive your Induction Kit, which includes your Leadership Certificate, NSLS T-shirt, honor insignia pin, and car decal.
Fee Information
One-Time National Registration Fee: $95
- No Hidden Costs: This is a one-time investment for lifetime membership. There are no monthly fees, yearly dues, or hidden graduation costs.
- What it Covers: The fee fully covers your enrollment in the Foundations of Leadership certification program, access to the $400k scholarship portal, lifelong partner discounts, and your physical induction ceremony kit.
- Note: Financial fee assistance or waiver inquiries are handled at the start of each semester email Office of Student Leadership & Engagement.
